Westlake Village consists of 18 Square miles of beautiful landscape. The city is surrounded by the Santa Monica Mountains to the south & the Simi Range to the north. Westlake Village sits on approximately 3,000 acres in Los Angeles County & 9,000 acres in Ventura County. The Los Angeles – Ventura County line transects diagonally on a northeast-southeast plane, cutting Westlake Lake in half. The Los Angeles County portion is the City of Westlake Village; most of the Ventura County portion has been annexed to the City of Thousand Oaks.

Thousand Oaks was incorporated on October 7, 1964, and has evolved from a small semi-rural community to a semi-urban city. Thousand Oaks is the second largest in population in Ventura County and the largest in the Conejo Valley. City boundaries include most of Newbury Park and two-thirds of Westlake Village (the Ventura County part).
Agoura Hills was incorporated in the county of Los Angeles in 1892.
The residents of Agoura Hills elect a five member City Council to oversee city operations and to guide the future development of the city. Agoura is known as the gateway to the Santa Monica Mountains. A visitor information center is located at 30401 Agoura Road in Agoura Hills.
Simi Valley was incorporated in 1969 and offers its residents security, the amenities of a big city with the peace, and quality of country living.
